 | TRYOUTS
Open gym will be held at the Dome over spring break (week of March 10).
Official tryouts will be March 17 & 18. Two volunteers will be needed to assist with check in. Players will wear names on tape. Coaches would like to know if players can be contacted by text messaging. Jennifer will make up a master roster form.
The first game is scheduled for March 28.
 | PRACTICES
Due to Coaches schedules, Girls V & JV teams will have evening practices rather than afternoon practices. Coach Dan prefers outdoor practices whenever possible. The DHS field may be shoveled clear as long as no metal shovels are used.
Maggi to check with Cellular One arena for additional practice/tryout times.
Games at DHS are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays.
 | KICK OFF BANQUET
Tamera is in contact with DHS for available dates for the auditeria.
Making the banquet a fund raiser for the Merritt family was discussed. Probably encouraging donations rather than charging a flat fee. Agreed that we may need to do this in early April, if the auditeria is not available until then, in order to accomodate the multiple purposes.
 | COACHES COATS
Coats have been ordered and are being embroidered with logo.
 | SPIRIT CLOTHING
Socks have been ordered. There was discussion about selling them to raise funds for the Merritt family. "Socks forTrason" at the banquet.

Jennifer will make up an order form to be available at tryouts.

It was good to have more people in attendance at the meeting.
Fundraising
 | TREASURER'S REPORT
No change to unaudited balance.
 | TOURNAMENT
The DHS Invitational Tournament has been postponed until the 2009 season due to logistical complications. Activities are underway now to secure teams, schedules, fields etc. for next year, and will discussed further at this year's ASAA post season meeting. Support has been offered by the DHS Alumni Association.
 | CONCESSIONS
It was agreed that we would bid to man the concession stand at DHS Field only if possible, if necessary we will man AFS also. It was also agreed that we would bid for the state tournament. A clothing tent alongside the concession stand was recommended. The booster club still has outstanding receipts for reimbursement for last year's hospitality tent. Food handling permits will be required for some, if not all, volunteers.
 | TRASON MERRITT
Trason suffered a severe injury during a tournament in Arizona. It was agreed that we would send a $500 Visa card for the family's use while out of state. Several groups are fundraising - including an Ebay auction item; an account #3752587133 at Wells Fargo to receive donated funds; our kick off banquet. Posters have been placed around town including several schools. Notices have also been placed in several soccer affiliated newsletters.
It was decided that DHS Booster Club would donate a $500 cash card and send it to the Merritt Family in a greeting card expressing our support. Jennifer Wilkerson and Laura Kautzman will take care of the logistics.

|
MEETING NOTES 11/29/07:
 | Treasurers Report: No activity to change account balance. Dan would
like to have statstical software that can track the players and games, etc. He will look into this and will get back to us.
Booster club will purchase jackets for the coaches and Celeste and Cliff Burnett will take care of ordering this. We also will be getting jersys
for the goal keepers. Dan (girls varsity coach) wants to get some extra goalie equipment (gloves, padded pants/shorts, shirts) to have on hand
for temp. keepers. If you have any that you are not using get ahold of Dan or I and we will get a bag together.
|
 | Officers: Will elect next meeting. We need all interested peple to attend
the meetings so we have people to elect. Remember if you are not there you could get elected!!! (not really).
|
 | Web Site: Tamera Randolph will be updating the web site this year. She will get together with Veronica Vania to get the information regarding
this. If there is someone from the boys team that wants to get Tamera information regarding games, etc. Please let Tamera or I know.
Filming and photos!!! We need someone to film and take pictures at the boys and girls games. Let me know if you are interested.
|
 | Tryouts: Laura will find out if we have school district acquired time at any of the indoor facilities (the Dome or cell one) for soccer tryouts.
UNOFICIALLY-tryouts will probably be the week after spring break.
Coaches may have some practices during spring break that would count toward the 10 practices, these can NOT be mandatory.
We discussed having bands at the games.
|
 | Winter leagues: The boys have started putting a team together for the indoor winter season. The girls need to do the same.
Booster club will put up the money for one girls team (to be paid back by the girls that will be playing), Terry Curran will get back to Laura about how/when etc
to sign up. Jordan Randolph and Olivia Burnett will collect money and names of players. Some discussion about how many and the kinds of teams
players can play on. Terry C. will get this information for us.
|
 | Fundraising: Laura will find out about putting the bid in again this year to do the concession stand for the soccer season. We will also
find out if we can just do the games at the Dimond field or will we need to cover the stand at AFS as well.
We will be getting sponsorship packets together for the players.
WE want to see if we can get 4-$1000. (2 from the boys and 2 from the girls) and 4-$500.00 sponsorships before the season starts. This is not
related to the program that we have not decided if we will do again. The sponsors names can be printed on the backs of practice jerseys.
|
 | Dimond Invitational Soccer Tournament: Dan and Terry presented their proposal regarding a soccer tournment to be held at the Dimond field on April 10, 11 and 12 with games at 2&4 on Thursday and Friday and 12&2 on Saturday. This is something that can be a yearly event and will involve both the boys and girls varsity teams with possibly a JV jamboree in conjunction. The plan is to have an outside boys and girls team come up as well as inviting the top 2 local teams other than Dimond. Each team will pay a $300.00 entry fee. The format will be round robin, with a three game guarantee, one full length game per day per team. Outside guest referees. Coaches will be discussing this amoung themselves and with Dimond activities to make sure we have covered all the details that need to be covered.
The booster club wants to be a part of this (as it has potential to be a huge money raising event--ticket, T-shirt, program sales and concession
stand)
I have not covered all of the specifics, if you have any questions please let me know. This is going to be a BIG event and will take alot of help. Please start thinking about what you can do to assist. As always, it will be alot of fun and a great way to meet the parents of the players your child is spending time with!!
As always, if you have any questions, comments or want to help let me
know.
AND
*****WE WILL NEED A TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR****
Let me know if you are interested.

MEETING NOTES 10/29/07:
 | Treasurers Report: Current account balance was reported with one
outstanding bill and money owed from state cup last spring. Detailed report available upon request.
|
 | Calendar and meetings: Next meetings will be November 26, December 17,
January 14, February 4 & 18, and March 3,
all meetings will begin at 6:30pm upstairs at Gallos on Actic and Dimond. Meetings will last approx. one hour.
|
 | Tryouts: According to the ASD web site soccer tryouts begin Monday, March 10, 2008.
Booster club will talk to coaches about tryout time in the Dome and Cell one. We will plan a date and type of event for the Kick off banquet at
the next meeting.
|
 | Fundraising: Theresa Alles will no longer be in charge of the program. We need a new person to be in charge of clothing ordering and sales. We
are asking the kids to submit designs and will choose from those submitted. We will use the gold ones from last year and supplement with
grey or maroon. We can easily add a new logo to the shirts/pants we have left over from last year. Cliff Burnett is a source for the printing.
All agreed that pre ordering was a good idea and want to continue for this season.
|
 | Officers: New officers will be elected at the next meeting.
|
 | Open Discussions:
- Dan Riedman (girls varsity coach) had Terry Currin (girls junior varsity coach) present an idea he had regarding a 3 day tournament that Dimond
would host. We could help bring a team up from outside, call it the "Dimond Invitational". Both boys and girls teams would be involved. It
may work out to have it on the 2nd weekend in April. If we had it at the Dimond field we could charge admissions, sell t-shirts, have the
concessions stand open and sell programs. It could turn into a yearly event and a good money maker for the booster club. All present felt this
was a great idea, however it would require close communication between booster club, coaches and Dimond High athletic department/administration.
- All would like to see the booster club and the coaches communicate more.
- More discussion on the indoor teams and how we can make sure all kids that want to play are able to and are notified.
- All in attendance felt that is was important for our coaches and our players to look like a team. booster club will supply coaches (2 for
girls and boys varsity, 1 for boys and girls junior varsity and 1 for Girls C team) jackets. We will also make sure all Varsity boy players
have matching warm up suits that will become the property of the Booster club and be collected at the end of the season with the uniforms. We
should have a complete set in a couple of years.
